These SHGs are in Ghaziabad, Hapur, G.B Nagar, Bulandshahr & Sambhal district of the state Uttar Pradesh.
About 100 SHG in Dhaulana, 200 SHG in Ghaziabad & G.B. Nagar, 200 SHG in Hapur & Bulandshahar and 100 SHG Sambhal.
What is SHG?
Self Help Group is a financial intermediary committee usually composed of 10 to 25 local women. To involve women of the villages and provide livelihood opportunities to them, SHGs are formed to provide the women to financially sustain themselves
and have a credit facility available for emergent situations. SELF HELP GROUPS (SHG) are based on the concept of Teamwork. It is the power of a group not an individual. What a single person fails to do, a group can achieve. The group of rural women when comes together in a form of SHG, their savings turn into a big fund for their emergent needs. The group functions on the principle for “One for all, All for one”. They stand up for each other and take responsibility for one another. They build a credible image of their group together. Their SHG becomes their power.
